Laugh it Off – Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund

Humour is the oxygen of the city of Liverpool – a fundamental part of the culture. It is a welcoming, friendly place with funny bones. A place where humour breaks down barriers and connects people no matter their differences. This project explores the historical role of humour in Liverpool’s resilience and what that means for supporting wellbeing in the present day.

Our programmes will improve your public speaking skills, make presentations more engaging, increase your confidence and teach you how to enjoy future public engagements!

A 3 year project, working with young across the Liverpool City Region, Laugh It Off is aimed at preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of comedy in our City. With a vision to safeguard the diverse and vibrant legacy of laughter, this pioneering project supports and promotes the preservation of comedy artefacts, performances, and cultural traditions for future generations to enjoy.

Lead by young people, the ‘Laugh It Off’ Club tours schools, youth centres and other youth-focussed institutions delivering various types of workshops covering everything from curating and performing your own stand-up comedy routines, creation of a touring exhibition and resilience toolkits that will be made available to comedy aficionados, researchers, and the general public.
